Loved sketching this mermaid style wedding gown! The detail in the bodice and the lower skirt really make this dress beautiful! His tuxedo is unique with the plaid textures. Show who you are with the small choices you make in your wedding day look.

Great way to keep things fresh and new!
This Day Lily, inspired from the flowers I grew in my backyard this summer. I have always loved lilies and have featured in my work for many years. Today my husband bought me flowers and he choose the Stargazer Lily. He said they looked like me.
Oil paints are usually my media of choice but, I have limited space and time to work these days. About a year ago I started sketching wedding dresses with Dreamlines and they require pencil and water-color. This Lily in the Garden was my first personal piece in over 20 years using water-color.
Wedding Dress Sketches
I work directly with My Dreamlines Wedding Dress Sketches for all of my dress sketches.
About a year ago a friend told me about Nikki and her website My Dreamlines. She told me Nikki was hiring more artist’s for her company. Shortly after a few practice sketches Nikki allowed me to sketch dresses for her clients. It’s been almost a year and I’ve sketched over 50 gowns. Nikki is great to work with! She prides herself with great customer service and speaks with all the customers personally. She is great at communicating with the clients and her artists. I have to thank her for this opportunity and appreciate all her hard work.
If you would like to order a sketch contact Nikki at My Dreamlines. If you want a sketch from me you must let her know.
The Album below is a collection of my wedding dress sketches – Hope you enjoy!
Hello! – I’m Catie the Sketch Lady. Come along with me on my journey of being an artist, wife and mother. I’ve always been an artist struggling to figure out “Who could I be?”, “Where am I going?” and “What will I become?” But when I became a mom, I realized I needed to be me and be happy! 🙂 I want to be a role model and the best mom for my boys. If I try everyday to do the best that I can, then I know that we all will be happy.
I became a mom in my later 30’s and now my boys are 4 & 2 years old. Everyday they keep me on my toes, boys never stop (unless they are sleeping). 🙂 I never realized how much I would love those two little stinker’s. They reminded me to smile at the little things, that swinging can make everything better and always check for rocks in the pockets! If by some chance (and you will) find a rock it must go to the rock collection in the front with the landscaping.
Nobody can tell you how much they will melt your heart picking you dandelions and clover flowers. For just a few moment those flowers are the most beautiful that ever existed. My boys are both very different and I love them more than they will ever know.
Jim and I have been married for 14 years. We have been thru so much together over those 20+ years! I’m lucky to have a partner like him. He tries to understand me, even on the “hard to understand” days. Either he loves me a whole lot or just gets it because he is an artist too. Jim owns/operates a TV production company for the last 8 years and has been in the industry since 2001. Just in case you were wondering, the answer is – no! He does not do wedding video’s. 😉 LOL!
Here at Catie the Sketch Lady I will be able to share with you my artwork & techniques, crafts and activities I do with the boys and some dairy free & gluten-free recipes. I’m still learning a lot with baking and cooking, but I love food and feeding my family. My kids are adventurous eaters and so am I! With all that healthy stuff I’m sure I will also share some of my favorite cocktail recipes and other “not so good for you” recipes. 🙂
I hope you enjoy my post’s. I know that I’m learning everyday and I want to share what I have learned with you. Life is such a journey! We don’t know where we are going, but we know where we have been. The only thing you can change is today.
Thanks for taking the ride with me!
